Our PREMIER Fire Wife Life Retreat will be hosted at the TopGolf in Chesterfield, MO! The day will begin with breakfast, drinks (open bar and mimosas of course!), and an interactive program featuring keynote speaker Emily Rau, guest speaker Valerie Graham Beason, the Lead Facilitators of Fire Wife Life, and a “HOT SEAT” rapid fire question session with firefighters Kevin McCart and Todd Edwards - so be thinking about your questions! The day will end with a Fire Wife Life TopGolf Tournament with lots of fun and prizes!

Emily Rau is an Emmy-winning journalist and communications expert. Emily spent the first decade of her career in broadcast journalism, working as a reporter and morning anchor in St. Louis, then a network correspondent with ABC News. While working for ABC, Emily reported from the White House, Capitol Hill and on location from some of the nation’s biggest breaking stories. After leaving television to start her own company, Emily has collaborated with clients ranging from CEOs, small business owners and one of the largest fire departments in St. Louis. Emily has also worked as a journalism professor and currently serves as a communications executive for a Fortune 500 company. A Missouri native, Emily is a proud Mizzou Tiger. She lives with her husband Mike and their puppy Paloma in St. Louis.

Valerie Graham Beason is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Missouri and has been practicing since 2015.  Her private practice is located in Lake St. Louis, MO.  She earned her BS from Washington University in St. Louis in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and her MA in Professional Counseling at Lindenwood University. While Valerie has many years of experience in the corporate world, her passion has always been to help others in some capacity.  Along with her private practice, Valerie worked with SSM Executive Health in St. Louis assessing over 1900 firefighters and paramedics for their mental wellness screenings.  She has given several mental health presentations to various first responder support groups as well as taken her "show on the road" to many fire districts and departments in the metro-St. Louis area.  Valerie grew up at the fire station since her father was a volunteer firefighter for many years and was the fire prevention officer at his department.  She has firsthand knowledge of what it is like to live with a first responder and brings this expertise to her practice.
